Hi I posted this question before, but I left out "Career." Has anyone out there ever heard of Medical Transcription Advantage Career Center? I really would like to hear about your experiences with the school.

Shoot!  I did a search but all the old posts must be gone.
I did not take their course, but have heard of it. I have a girlfriend who took their course (this school is local for us), but I'm not sure she completed it. She eventually had to distance herself from the owner due to, shall we say, differing opinions on good business practices.
This particular school is referred to around here by those who have been here long enough to remember, as MTACCY (read - M tacky). They used some questionable buiness practices a few years ago to get their name out on the boards as an up and coming school for MT.
I know nothing about its course or content. I was a hair shy of taking their course myself but decided on Andrews instead. I've never regretted my decision. If you want to take a course that will get you a good job starting from home, I would recommend Andrews or M-TEC. Highly.

Their claim to fame was their self-described "guerilla marketing," wherein everyone and his dog was required to post so many times to any internet MB pimping the "great" course in return for tuition credit (I think I still have copies of the internal messages and contracts, so this is not simply anecdotal). Their dog and pony show even involved the owner and her lap dog posting under multiple identities as awestruck prospective students and happy customers (even here) to whip up some enthusiasm. They also wrangled their way firmly in bed with the Airheads, buying ad space on the frickin' forums to make it appear as though they were endorsing them. Tried to buy their way into a student forum here, then refused to allow anyone to post to it, making it one giant propaganda piece, so it went bye-bye.
Very, very strange people. I honestly can't believe they're still around. After the way they crapped in the nest everywhere they went, there's no way they could redeem themselves as a school, no matter what the course itself was like. Once you try to buy a reputation, the only one you get is BAD. I still smell the stink every time someone dredges them up.
Of course, now they'll probably go the way of PCDI and attempt a name change to fool people.

Ohhhh, yeah...I didn't even realize who was under discussion when the full name was spelled out. I remember hearing about that.

Unless my memory is failing, they already did that once--I think kept the initials but changed the actual name of the school?

You absolutely can't beat Andrews School and/or M-TEC. I have never heard anything but raves about those schools, and that they are worth every penny of their tuition.
