If you want to get serious about social experimentation, though, you really ought to shut off your computer, your iPod, your cell phone, your Nintendo box and all the rest of the electronic communication and amusement stuff.
Of course, if you have the average 2.x kids, tell me how you make out stuck with them for a Saturday without any of that stuff buffering the experience.  (Hmmmm, maybe that's the real reason parents used to believe in having kids do lots of chores.)

Well, my router is up the creek without a paddle so my computer is the only one with working internet at the moment and nobody else is allowed on here, so that won't be hard to do for them. I have got to work at least half a day tomorrow and that would be kind of hard to do without firing up the computer.
We have got soccer games tonight and tomorrow which takes up a chunk of 3-4 hours at a time with the travelling. After his game on Saturday, kiddo is going to cheer his g/f on at a volleyball tournament. I am really amazed that he hasn't had internet access for going on 4 days and I haven't heard a peep out of him. Mind you, if I want his cell phone I would have to pry it out of his hands while he was kicking and screaming. LOL

It would be a Saturday, wouldn't it?
Well if it had been on a weekday, maybe we really could have shut down all the nationals for a day (not to mention practically all other places of employment).

Considering how many companies require a weekend day these days, this still could be a monkey wrench. Wonder if we could claim it as a religious holiday somehow?

Buy-in is the problem here, as I see it. Employees might have a PTO option, but ICs would be funding this social experiment out of their grocery money.

How fitting. May 3 is my birthday and now I can turn off my computer for a political reason not just because I want to. I think I will comply.
