Just thought I would get the conversation started...
What did everyone think about last night?
David Cook gets better every week. He'll be a success whether he wins or not.
Jason is just okay for me. His saving grace is that he always stands quietly and listens to the judges' comments and doesn't talk back. Syesha and Brooke should learn from that.
David A. is cute and has a great voice, but is kinda boring for me. I see him more as a contemporary Christian artist, rather than a pop idol.
What about Neil Diamond? I was never really a fan of his music, but I thought he looked fantastic and gave great advice.

Sayesha? What has she ever said back to the judges? I must have forgotten? I was just saying last night that through this entire show she has handled herself with a lot of class, especially in the first part of the show because it seemed Simon and Randy could never find one nice thing to say about her.
What about Paula's HUGE boo-boo? My first thought? I knew it! American Idol is rigged! LOL.

She doesn't *sass* back to the judges, but always has to interject something.

I'm dying to know... She got all confused while talking to Jason and said something about his *second song* when they had only done one to that point. Long awkward pause...and then she corrected herself and said she was talking about David Cook.
They really ought to send her Coke cup to the lab.

I was wondering if she had taken notes during their dress rehearsal. Apparently, the judges are there while they do a dress rehearsal before they go live. The snippets they show at the end of the show -I guess to remind everyone what they sang- are taken from the dress rehearsal. She is a hoot, though! It was kind of confusing when Seacrest said the judges would weigh in after all contestants had performed both songs and then he asks the judges for a quick impression after they all had performed their first song. I could see that being confusing. Who knows!

I was bored with everybody's performance last night, but I think it is because they had to be in the Neil Diamond mode. It will be interesting to see who gets the boot.

I think Syesha is trying harder than anyone else, even though she will be booted this week or next. I think the whole show is quite boring this year. David Cook should win, but this is just one of these years when I will be glad when it is all over. The ratings will surely drop after this season. I think Paula may have a little Rum mixed with her cough. She is always too witty and polite for a sober person.

I'm finding it hard to believe no one's mentioned Brooke's "nightmare" edition of "I'm a Believer." Syesha did WAY better than Brooke, but Simon still seems to be a fan of Brooke's; maybe he has a thing for blondes.

I agree, happyme. Simon does like to sway the vote any way he can. Here's hoping Brooke (very nice person, just not a great singer) or Jason (ditto) go home tonight. *fingers crossed*

I am with you about those choices. I have never been a fan of Jason and just can't see what he does that is so special. I have been surprised and Randy and Simon, as they have praised him several times on some of the worst performances I have seen on the show. Simon said (in his own way) he thought Syesha would be in trouble tonight. Each time he does that, the person normally goes home. I think she is giving it all she has and for some reason, she is not hitting it off very well with the judges. I am not including Paula. I believe she will be successful on broadway shows after all of this is over.

Are we watching the same show? LOL. I have not noticed her doing this at all! Brooke, yes. Sayesha, no. In fact, I think she has been fairly quiet throughout the show up until the last few weeks, and now she seems much happier and more lighthearted. Through all the criticism the judges have given her, all I have really seen her do is stand there and take it with a smile on her face. I must have missed these times!

Unpopular opinion, but I am glad Jason is still in the running. American Idol is not the right platform for the kind of music that suits him best. He is talented, just not able to get it out in this venue. He needs to write his own stuff. Jason or Syehsa will go next week. I think David Cook will walk with the Idol title this year.

My guess is still, last two standing will be David C. and Jason.

Meri, you may very well be right. So, if that's the case, whom do you think will win it all between those two?
Margie, hoping it won't come down to that.
ETA: Should that be "who" instead of "whom"? Suddenly I'm drawing a blank, but I think I got it wrong the first time.

I think the final 2 might actually be David A and Jason because of all the teenybopper votes. If it comes down to those 2 I think David will win because older people might vote for him over Jason. Just to clarify, by older I mean people over 20 LOL.

Although it doesn't matter what I think, my guess is that the two Davids will be the last ones standing; but part of me is worried that JustJ is correct about those teenybopper votes. After all, they got Jason this far...
