Does anyone know of any good books or any advice on starting my own medical transcription company? Thanks.

Don't overlook credit or noncredit courses at your local community college. When I decided I really wanted to work at home and be self-employed, I attended classes for small business start-ups at my local community college that were held through their Business and Professional Institute. They offered such things as recordkeeping for small business, business plan development, financing a small business, legal aspects of business, marketing a small business, etc. The instructors were from the Small Business Administration and the Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) as well as local accountants, lawyers and bankers. Cost was reasonable. It was a good place to network. You could make appointments with the instructors for advice and assistance with problems down the line. You pay taxes for the school. If they have classes that would be of use to you, then take them and get something back for your tax dollars.
