Do you have any favorite ethnic foods to suggest others to try?

Horchata. A Mexican drink usually made with rice, almonds and cinnamon.

Samosa with mango chutney. Kind of like an East Indian pot sticker.

Peshwari/Kashmiri naan bread. East Indian/Pakistani flat bread stuffed with (I think) coconut and raisins.

Authentic Indian food--any of it. England has a lot of Indians living there and their restaurants are the best. I think I need to book a trip to go see Harry.

Scandahoovia - rullepolse (cured meat thinly sliced on an open-face sandwich), fruit soup with rice pudding, and lingonberry jam. Lefse, which is kind of like a raw tortilla with different spreads, is popular but not my favorite.

East Indian - mango lassi (like a mango-yogurt drink). We love going to East Indian restaurants with lunch buffets; often they have different dishes each time we go.

Fresh mozzarella.

Oh yes, Margie, fresh shrimp pho with lemongrass is excellent!

I love to make a big batch of taboule salad every month or so. My kids are not very culinarily adventurous, so I get it all to myself!

I like dama, a beef and tomato stew with peppers that is seasoned with garlic, cardamom, and cinnamon and served on a flat bread. I also like Jollof rice, which is rice cooked with tomatoes, garlic, and meat and/or veggies of your choosing and seasoned with cinnamon and cardamom. However, my housemate, who is here working on her master's, has declared her favorite ethnic dish to be chicken-fried steak, pan-fried potatoes, and gravy.

Is sushi ethnic food? I thought it was one of the basic food groups. \:\) (wish I could afford it -- I'd eat it 3-4 times a week for sure.)

Oh, I love Caribbean Jerk Chicken. We went to a small, authentic Jamaican place in Springfield, Missouri, and that meal was the best!

I'm a big fan of Chinese food. I just love the crab rangoons, chicken fried rice, chicken with mushrooms, and chicken on a stick (I like chicken!) but I'm not very adventurous, obviously.

Mmm, Chinese food! Spring rolls!
Also love Japanese California rolls (maki)and some sushi (mackerel), and I just love miso soup.
As for French food, there is nothing like ratatouille over rice. And profiteroles (not over rice!).

Ceviche!

I've tried making it myself, but it's just not the same when you're hundreds of miles from the nearest coast.
