"Stewart University is the first medical school to open west of the Mississippi in the last 45 years."
"The last new medical school in California opened more than 40 years ago."
Does anyone else see a discrepancy in these two statements?
Also, I wanted to get my red pen out and mark up my monitor when I read the English errors.

Come on now... you're being too harsh! It's a great opportunity! No MCAT required! No undergraduate credits required!
My favorite... check out the Chief Operating Officer (under Team-Administration). I think she also developed the school's pole-dancing curriculum!

Wow--her picture is unbelievable. In fact, the whole website is unbelievable. Did you notice that they only have FOUR faculty members? How can you be called a medical school with only 4 teachers?

It looks like the administration pictures were lifted out of old yearbooks.
This will have me reading the diplomas on the walls from now on! If I'm sitting nekkid in an office and I see a diploma from this school on the wall, I'm wrapping myself in a sheet and running out!

I agree with Julie about the yearbook photos. I even wondered if all of them were even living because the pictures appear to be so old. Did you also notice that not one of the administrators is an MD? I know that would not necessarily be a requirement to be an administrator, but you would think there would be at least one MD instead of so many dentists. Also, did you notice that the pole dancer has the same last name as the facilities director? I smell nepotism.

Also, read the testimonials. All but 2 of them are not truly testimonials at all.

Well, here's how they're able to offer an accelerated program: Stewart squeezes in three semesters every year and the other med schools offer only two semesters per year.
Stewart accepts Visa and MasterCard for tuition... but do they take PayPal?

Hey now, people. . . The New Scotland International School of Medicine's founders heritage is of Scottish decent. Not only is it Scottish (ergo NOT crap), it's genetically "decent." Validation enough for me! As an MT, I bet I'm halfway there already, eh?

I see their admissions office is in Los Gatos, CA, which is about 15 minutes from my house. I may just drop by there tomorrow and apply in person. Haggis, want me to pick up an app for you?

Great! You know, even though this medical school is not one of the "top two" schools out there, I know that with hard work and determination, I can become a doctor. I'm not going to let anyone get me down and tell me I can't do it just because I decided not to choose one of the "top two" schools. I want this more than anything, so I know I can do it if I just give it my best.
Another thing... maybe I can find a practice or hospital that will let me start working while I'm still in school! I can be getting real experience while I am studying. Even if I had to work for free, I think it would be worth it!
So, for anyone else out there (you too, Haggis), don't let anyone tell you that you can't reach your dreams through Stewart. If you want something bad enough, you can make it happen!
Drivel mode off.

Guess I can save myself a trip to the "admissions office."

Criminy. I'm supposed to be simmering down and getting ready for bed, not giggling my arse off.
Your enthusiasm is contagious, woman. I vote we slap on our rose-colored glasses and start a student forum post haste. I bet our classmates will be able to answer all our questions faster than the faculty would get around to it, thus keeping our tuition affordable.
Say. . . you don't suppose we could get the downloadable ebook version of the course on eBay for $19.95, do you? I wonder how much faster we could be working if we applied ourselves to a self-paced approach, and I'd really like to get started ASAP. Then again, we'd miss out on the pole dancing class. . . I might need that one to help pay for my textbooks.

What I really like about this is that once we graduate we can stay home with the kids and treat people while in our jammies.

This post really made my day even though I had to go get the Windex to clean the coffee spatter off my monitor.
