Hello. I just recently registered to use this message board. I have been looking into info on the Andrews School and have been very impressed. I took the pre-enrollment exam and I did well. The plan that I mentioned briefly on my application to Andrews School was that I will be retiring from my regular employment in two years. However, I will still need to work so Medical Transcription is something that has caught my interest and desire to pursue. I live in Rochester, New York. This city has several hospitals, medical centers and professional medical office parks. I do think this is a great area for a profession such as this. Right now I am working on getting together a sizeable down payment for the course so my monthly payments will be as reasonable as possible.
If anyone has any recommendations for me as a beginner I am open to receive them. Years ago I was Group Health Claims examiner for Metropolitan so I am fairly familiar with medical terminolgy.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

I enrolled in the Andrews course at the end of last year. I simply love it. It is a very good course and they teach you so much. I would highly recommend the course. I have already realized the many advantages to the Andrews School.

Hi Jeannie,

You have made an excellent choice in the Andrews School! I can't recommend it highly enough! I'm about halfway through the course, and I'm finding it to be quite challenging and enormously stimulating. It's a lot of hard work, but I love it!

While you're waiting to enroll, you may want to take some time to brush up on your keyboarding skills and review basic grammar, parts of speech, and sentence structure. Having a firm grasp on those skills will help you tremendously as you begin the course.

Best of luck as you transition to the field of MT!

Amy
