I hope that over time we will have an active and comfortable place for all of you who are struggling with challenges unique to the military life. Most of you move every couple of years, so that's definitely a challenge! At least here we'll try to provide a place that will be with you wherever you go.

Enjoy the forum!

I don't have a spouse in the military, not for a long, long time, but think having this forum for those who do is a wonderful idea, sort of a support group I guess. I would also guess that with all that is going on these "guys and gals" need all the support they can get.

Linda, I haven't noticed many other spouses around here, unless they don't post much, but thanks for thinking of us. DH retires from the AF on February 1 after 24 years. I will definitely poke my head in regularly to see if there is anything I can help out with.

Hello everyone! I am a MT student and army wife! My husband just returned from his second deployment to Iraq. I have 4 children ages 9,7,4 and 2. We are currently stationed at Fort Hood.

I have been a SAHM for 8 years and I must admit it has been far more challenging to balance mom, wife and student than I had expected!

Nice to meet ya'll!

Hello! I'm soon to be an M-Tec student, thanks to Operation Life Transformed. We're also stationed at Fort Hood. My husband is gearing up for his 2nd deployment to Iraq. We have 3 girls, ages 3 years, 18months, and 3 months.

Hi Beth! Your kiddos are close in age like mine. We also have 3 girls! Fun stuff! My son is 9, we had a daughter 16 months later who is 7.5 now. Then we took 2 years off so the next one in line is 4 and our baby just turned 2. Do you live on post? Let's see if I can hint where we are without giving out all the goods online! We're on post (the on post area that is actually off post) just off CC. Wouldn't it be funny if we lived near each other. Such a small world!

I know where you live! Well, one of the 2 villages in that area. LOL If you live in K, our villages share a community center. We live on post, just not "main" post. We're closer to Cove.

Well, you 2 army wives just picked the best MT schools out there. Good job! M-TEC and Andrews are the absolute best there are. Unfortunately, the reason I know this is because I didn't go to either one of them and I wish I had because it was harder for me to find a job 4 years ago when I started out. If there is anything I can do for you while you are going through training, please let me know. If there is one thing I have learned that I can tell you first off it is to Google everything because there is an answer for everything you are looking for! I'm here if you need me

Beth, I know where you are and yes we do share a community center. One of my best friends lives over near you.

Michele, I actually chose Andrews because I have an online friend who is a MT and she did not go to Andrews or M-TEC and made it very clear to me that I had to. We're not allowed to use google for school.

No way! That is probably another reason why it is one of the best, lol. Linda probably gives you enough material that you don't have to worry about that. Schools are so much different now then when I went to school. Most be even harder with all the little ones running around too! When I went to school all I had was 1 of them, I can't even imagine what you must be going through!

Yay! What a great forum to add!

My DH is AD AF with the Guard, so we have a slightly different experience that most of the other military families you might see. No big moves (what a mess that would be for us, ick), and so far no major deployments, just a lot of short trips.

I will definitely be checking back in from time to time.

Hi. AD AF wife with 2 children, ages 10 and 7. Very active in the spouse groups here. Have been a stay at home mom for 10 years and am trying to decide between Andrews and MTech. I have a BBA from too many years ago and am anxious about starting college again.

So nice to see a thread for military families.

Hi Everyone,

M-TEC graduate and active-duty Marine Corps. wife here, currently stationed in Cali. I have had the most awesome experiences with M-TEC, both as a student and graduate, and as a working MT. If I can be of any help to anyone, I would be glad to share my experiences. I have been through just about everything from my student days to now - PCS, overseas tour, deployment, you name it.

Well I am also an Army Wife and Mom of 4 soon to be five. Thanks to Operation Life Transformed I will be starting M-Tec soon. We've been at Ft. Hood for 5 years. Don't think we are ever going to leave. My husband will be heading back out by the EOY for tour # 3. Our kids are 12,8,4,15m, and one due November 4. Yes I am crazy!!! I am really looking foward to starting classes. One of my closet and dearest friends is already enrolled in Andrews and has given me good advise on getting organized. I am looking foward to this new adventure.

Hi all,
AD CG wife 13 years. Been stay at home mom for 15 years. We are stationed in Coos Bay, OR. I just finished the Career Step program at our last station, and now that we are settled here, I am job searching. Mostly with the companies Career Step suggested. I am also dabbing in the local market to see if they want try out the IC MT contracts. Thank-you for starting this forum, it's nice to talk among those who understand!
