Hi, I'm from the Taylorsville area. I have been an MT for 3 years until just a couple weeks ago when my Docs both moved to the new IMC--and are required to use their in-house transcription. I LOVED doing MT--and want to find another account but have had no luck. Who do you work for?

I am not employed yet. I'm actually still in my research phase, and trying to choose a school.
What program did you use?
I'm down here in "Happy Valley"!

Hi, sorry it took me so long to reply. I actually did not attend a school. I have an aunt who had been in the business for 15 years and had this account for two doctors. She was ready to retire and asked me if I wanted to take it over, since I can type pretty fast. I took a medical terminology class at continuing ed, and then sat by her side for about 3 months as she taught me how to transcribe. The only problem with this method is that I am finding that most national companies want school graduates. Hmmmm....

I am looking into a couple of local companies that are hiring. I will let you know how things work out for me. Some of my friends who have done transcription cautioned me; said that some of the local companies do not pay on time and pay poorly. Soooo, I am researching what is out there.

I'm in West Valley. I've been doing transcription from home for the last 9-1/2 years. I never went to school, either, and was fortunate enough to learn on the job working for a doctor friend's clinic. Connie, if you have 3 years' experience, you shouldn't have any trouble finding someone to hire you. The company I work for is always looking for MT's. They are based out of Boston and have accounts all over New England. PM if you're interested in the information.
