I should probably have my head examined here - but what the hey - I figure a little excitement in life is always a good thing. ;)
That said - here are da rules.
This is not the "link heaven" forum. Please do not just come here to post link after link after link to all sorts of articles/op ed pieces out there. Of course if you would like to link to a news item - or an op ed piece - please do - but please don't do the "hit/run" link work. Meaning - don't just post a link - don't tell anyone what it's about and don't put your own thoughts/ideas on what you're sending everyone to read about. This is a discussion forum - so discuss what you're posting and encouraging others to read.
As we've all experienced here in the past - these discussions can and usually do get quite heated. I don't expect anything different from this group. What that does not leave the door open for, however, is assaulting one another verbally. Yes - that includes me! As a matter of fact - I'm pretty much going to be watching now. I - believe it or not - am really sitting on the fence about a great many things at this point - and really am looking forward to seeing what others have to say and hopefully you all who do speak up will keep my "kind" in mind when you post. You're trying to convince the people like me that what you are believing in is the right thing to believe in - so hold your discussions with that in mind.
Discuss - debate - argue - disagree - agree to disagree - but DO NOT get the conversations personal. I really want to see this forum work and I know you all are more than capable of making it work! I will be keeping a very light hand here - VERY light - but I will come in and close threads down when/where needed. I will do so reluctantly when needed - so keep that in mind and really do try to not let things get to that point.
In other words - play nice!

This is great, Annie . I had to do a double-take though and pinch myself to see if this (you opening this forum) was really happening. This is bound to be one historic year for all things political, and there is going to be a lot to hash over in the coming months.
