Free Clinical Medicine CECs Online
The Discovery Health channel now offers online continuing education credits for medical professionals. You can watch a credit-worthy program, offered Saturday and Sunday mornings, on the Discovery Health channel in your area and then take an online quiz; or view the presentations online and take the quiz. If you achieve a passing score, you will earn 1 Clinical Medicine CEC. After taking the quiz, you can print off the proof of CE form and file it away for your recertification. To get started, log on to Discovery Health CME and register. It’s completely free! Check out the list of upcoming topics here. Then start earning your free clinical medicine CECs.

Hey Nae. This is great news. I was wondering if I need to fill out and approval request form to send in with the quiz after viewing the program for it to be approved. Are the shows already approved? This will be a great way to get my CEC's.

Darn good question that I cannot answer. It sort of sounds like they are already pre-approved from the way they wrote it, but I will go ask over in the AAMT forum for you ... it gets very little traffic so it may be a while before I have an answer for you, but they do answer things eventually and as soon as they do I will let you know.

Here is your answer, and, for AHDI, pretty darn quickly

The Discovery Health CME program is preapproved by AHDI so there is no need to request approval. CMTs only need to print off the proof of CE form and file it in the event their recertification paperwork is audited.
We are constantly on the lookout for innovative ways for CMTs to earn quality continuing ed credits. If you hear of any, let me know!
