Hi. I just registered after reading the forums for some time. I graduated in February, and have been working since March. I didn't go to one of the top schools, so I am going to have to work my way up, unfortunately. I love MT so far.

Just wanted to say hi, and hope to be posting more often in the future. Hopefully I will get the hang of this soon!

Kim

Welcome to this board and congrats on finding a job so quickly after graduation. That is probably your biggest first hurdle after training.

Pick up on it? It jumped off the screen, slapped me around a little bit, and insulted my family!

I like how you put that!

Actually, I thought it was a tad TOO obvious, as in baited. I was going to say something, but it wasn't nice, so I resisted. If it wasn't a farce, then I pray no one gives this person a job!

Thanks for the welcome messages, guys. I feel I am too new myself to throw stones just yet, but man, did she have to pick MY thread to post that little gem? I guess I'd better get used to it, huh?

Thanks! I hope so. I look forward to getting to know everyone and joining in on conversations. The only thing I worry about is posting a terminology question. I don't want to look like a dumb*** by asking something that I should already know!

Oh, please! Don't worry about that. If you've done your research before posting (and you may want to state that in your post), then ask away. Someone will hopefully come along and give you a hint or push you in the right direction.

Welcome!

It looks as if you know the ropes already, don't worry about dumb questions, we all have something lurking from our remote or not so remote past that causes us to squirm. Mostly nobody bites on the word board. If someone gives you a hint or a link instead of handing you an answer, follow it up--you are likely to learn a heck of a lot more than by being plopped an answer.

Welcome aboard. You look like a keeper.

Thanks guys. You really are making me feel welcome. I agree that I would rather research something myself rather than just being told the answer. If I get to the point where I have to ask, I am already ticked off! I use mostly online sources at this point. I don't exactly have a library of books. My company doesn't suggest any, or imply that I ask too many questions, but I know I need to work on building my reference materials.

Welcome aboard, Kimmie - you're handling yourself JUUUUST fine. I find the Stedman's books to be helpful, and others have previously suggested references they find useful, as well. If you do a search for previous topics, just be sure to clear out the "newer than" boxes.

Thanks for the tips. Now my big problem is this: I keep visiting these blasted boards, and not getting my work done! I'm gonna be here all night at this rate!!!
