I agree with tropsicle. My speed increased significantly while I was in school typing all of those reports. Something that works for me is backspacing and retyping instead of correcting typos with the mouse. For example, if I had typed "the patien went to school and then straight to his job," I would delete everything until I got to patien and retype it. Not something to do while I'm working, but in doing that I'm getting practice AND I'm improving my accuracy.
I suck at the numbers and those are important, of course, so I bought Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing and did the number exercises.
TyperShark is a VERY fun game you can download at Yahoo! Games, I believe, and it will speed you up. There's a free trial and then you can play it online.
