I can't believe it has been almost 5 months since someone posted here, so I thought I would just check in and say hello and see if everyone is doing ok? I hope everyone is having a great start to their summer. Do any of you have any interesting vacations or events planned? A trip to Europe maybe? If you do, please don't tell me (lol). I'd just be green with envy!
My vacation this year will mostly consist of the AHDI conference in Reno (sigh), but hey, I can turn anything into a party! I hope some of you will be joining us there, at least to take in a few lectures, play a few slots, black jack.....you know, work-related activities (lol).
For those of you who are just reseaching this field, there is a wealth of information on these forums. Those who post here often are experts in the field and are able to answer any questions you might have. I welcome your input and quetions any time, so please feel free to either post here or email me. To current students who are visiting, keep studying, stay the course, and maintain your focus. For those of you who have already graduated and are working, please keep in touch and let us know how you are doing. I am always just an email away!
For now, this is just a friendly hello to all our friends at MT Chat and a note to let you all know I am still alive and kicking. I welcome you to visit or email me privately if you have any questions that I can answer, or if you just want to say hello!
Have a great summer!!
Susan

OK. Then I won't remind you that I am already here! And thanks to my M-TEC studies, I won't be doing a lot of traveling aside from an overnight trip here and there and maybe a short visit to Amsterdam.
Thanks for stopping by, Susan. It's great to see how the directors of M-TEC and Andrews do visit the MT forums, including the ones for their own schools. That personal connection does make a difference! I am staying the course, chugging through session 6 now. Thank you for the encouragement, and enjoy your trip to Reno.

Sorry. Actually, we probably won't be doing that after all. This isn't the reason, but I was recently told there is not much to Amsterdam, it's dirty, and the people are rude. I'd still like to go sometime just for a day and see Corrie Ten Boom's and Anee Frank's houses. And the tulips in spring--I hear they are breath-taking.

Hoosier,
Amsterdam is a very interesting city. It is all of the things that people have told you and more. It is really a study of people and I loved seeing it and would go back in a heartbeat. There are many other cities to see and the tulips and windmills are beautiful.
I don't know that I would say the people are rude. They are just so very interesting. I think I saw more rude tourists there than locals. I would disagree that it is any dirtier than France. I would go to France as well. I am planning a trip to Paris for next fall.
Have you had a chance to see much of France yet? Beaujolais above Monte Carlo is a favorite area of mine.

I still want to go, but DH doesn't seem to be too interested. I'd like to see other parts of Europe, too! Well, if it's no dirtier than France . . . (the Health Department in America would have a hey day here, at least in the restaurants. I see the streets get cleaned more often! Oh, they're not nasty, but they either don't have the codes we do or they don't care!)
So far I've seen Normandy, Brittany, the Loire Valley, eastern France by Strasbourg, and the Auvernge region (where there are some low mountains that are the source of many mineral waters sold here). We're going next week to Caen for a few days. I'd like to see the very south and the very north some day, but not now, while everyone else is there (it's vacation time here).
