At any rate it is possible and it's about a 50 step process.

To get your QC entries into a file in the form of abb=expansion, start here: Corel Knowledge Base

Next, convert this list into a table in the form of:
abb | expansion | False

(The |'s above represent cells in the table.)

Then follow the directions at the Microsoft site for importing a backup file of your AutoCorrect.

Could you expand on how to get the entries into a table? I currently have them in a .txt file as abb=expanded

Then select the text and go Insert | Table, choose Tabular column and click OK.
