Help!!! I have two machines. My other machine is coming up wiht a message that says there is a Registry problem. It says to click if you want to restore the registry. It then immediately says. Do you want to restart your computer. You must restart your computer in order for the files to work. If you click where it says yes to restart the computer --- nothing happens!!!! Anythoughts out there? Thanks in advance!

If you are using Win98 - try this

Go to start and shut down -- and click on "restart in MS-DOS mode" and restart that way. Once you are at a Windows prompt in DOS -- type in "scanreg/fix" (without the quotation marks) That should fix the problem. Just type exit when it takes you back to the Windows prompt in DOS.

To the best of my knowledge -- NO!!!!

Try this link and see if this helps at all.

Microsoft support

OR Wait till Mike or someone with more knowledge on Win95 pops in and is able to help.

Also, for future reference, this is a wonderful site for Windows 95 users. Tons and tons of useful information!

I'm glad you were able to solve your problem. Going anywhere near the Registry generally sends me into a swoon.

I can't remember where I downloaded it, but if you do a search, you'll find it.

Download a program called regclean.exe. Run it and see if that helps.
