I posted this question on the New MTs board, and I received a suggestion to post it over here also.

I am a new graduate (almost) starting the interview process. One of the companies I have applied to has a pay rate based on the dictated minute. I am more familiar with the rate per line scale. I want to have a thorough understanding of how these pay scales compare. I am wondering what the advantages and disadvantages of rate per line vs. rate per dictated minute are. I would appreciate any input anyone is willing to share with me.
