When my boss cut me loose to face the wilds of self-employment, she kindly gave me a whole stack of office supplies, including those nifty little sticky flags that point to words/phrases in question. (She was closing down her office and moving out of state, so she simply doled out most of her supplies to all five of her employees.)

Unfortunately, the flags she gave me stick just a little too much and I've gotten a few complaints that they rip paper or remove ink when they're removed. I've even had to reprint (free of charge) on a couple of occasions. So I'm wondering: Is there a brand of flag that stays in place but is easy to remove? And, as followup, where would I find them? Our only local office supply store didn't have anything that looked too promising.

I realize that this forum isn't intended to advertise or endorse products, so if anybody has a suggestion, please either e-mail me at the addy in my profile or send me a private message via this board. Thanks so much!

Nancy

I use Post-it notes that can be found at Wal-Mart or K-Mart.

Post-it brand has always worked for me, BUT I take care to not stick it to the print, but rather in the margin. I draw an arrow on the Post-it along with any helpful information, for example a "sounds-like" or other comment. Also, if you are using an inkjet printer (as opposed to laser printer) you should be aware that some inks are more vulnerable than others.

Thank you for the input. I really appreciate it. Thank you, too, for the e-mail. I tried to reply, but it came back as undeliverable. *shrug*

I use a laser printer and I usually do try to place them in the margins. (In fact, that's where they were when the paper tore!) But there have been a few occasions when the question was buried so deep in the text that I had to squeeze a flag onto the blank. Guess I inadvertently placed it over some print, too. I don't know why it would have lifted print off a laser-printed page; I didn't actually see it, just heard of it.

Anyway, I'm taking much too long to say thank you for the suggestions.
