Please do a thorough search on this school. Keep in mind these points...1. Do you really want to learn medical transcription from a place that also offers air conditioner repair and child daycare?
2. Is it really possible to completely train for a new career for $789? (PS--some of us have to pay that for the chair we sit in...others pay that much and more just for their reference libraries)
3. Should you be taking a transcription course from a place that does not even provide a transcriber? Kind of like telling a pianist not to use a piano!
4. Your practice consists of 38 reports (curious to know how many minutes of dictation that is). I'll bet that most of the MTs here can transcribe the entire thing in a day or two...three for the sake of argument.
5. At least it appears they have given up this statement, but remember the "You can earn $40K a year"? Sure you CAN, but WOULD you, really?
Other side of the story...I came from a community college where I really thought I learned a lot. I did, for the limited exposure to the medical world that I had previously. However, the job was far harder than the course was. Don't lose your confidence, but don't forget that there are so many things you still don't know that you always have a lot to learn.
Compare the really good programs (by reputation...for a reason); Andrews, M-Tec, etc. Then check out the weak programs; PCDI, AHP, etc. There is a world of difference.
