I searched on the forum and couldn't find this anywhere. I must have been corrected a hundred times on this some doctors/employers state it is mass effect; others tell me that is wrong and it should be mass affect, so I have notes all over who wants it spelled what way. I find it both ways on google search, and have been totally confused about this for some time now. If anyone knows correct term please advise....Thanks

I believe mass effect is correct. That's how I have always typed it and have never been told otherwise. It's that way in all my radiology word books also.

Just remmber that "affect" as a noun has to do with emotions and feelings, so unless your mass has feelings, the word is effect, always. Those who told you the other way are more confused than you were, and are probably trying to reason from the fact that the mass affects (verb) what it is displacing, but the noun for that process is effect.

I have always used it as mass affect. That's what my docs think!
