I hate to ask two questions in one night, but I'm having trouble deciding if this needs an edit. It's a "near verbatim" account - closer to verbatim than not though."Per parent, Father, he had gotten the child from Mother two days ago."
I'm okay with everything except "gotten", but can't think of a word to replace it that doesn't sound odd in the context.
Obtained, received ... I don't know. Picked up is my next choice, but I'm not sure if that's too much of an edit.
Your thoughts?
Thanks... I appreciate it!
