Congratulations to Mindy & Sharon on passing the certification exam through AHIMA!!! Two of you on one day! That's almost too much to handle. I am so pleased when I see our graduates do well on these certification exams and on the job. I'm delighted that not only are you both certified now, you love your coding jobs. It can't get much better than that.

Thanks Linda...it sure is nice to be recognized. You too should be recognized for putting together such an amazing and complete program. I copied the rest of this post from the Andrews Message Board......

Hello to all visiting this message board...I am one of the Andrews grads that Linda is talking about. I started the Andrews School coding course last December and finished in August of this year. 1 month after finishing the course I took the CCS-P national exam and passed on the first try. I had NO previous coding experience, and although I work in a medical office, I never had anything to do with coding.
Another Andrews Grad and I took the exam at the same time and we were done about 1 1/2 hours early. I have heard of people leaving the test at lunch and not returning because it was too hard. This is directly related to the amazing and comprehensive course through Andrews. Although parts of the test were challenging, we were very prepared for it. I looked at several schools before choosing Andrews. They just didn't seem to cover the amount of material that Andrews does. Every specialty, disease process, medical terminology, pharmacology, etc... it is a very complete program. The instructors are demanding, challenging, and willing to help you to make sure you are learning it right from the very beginning.

It says a lot about the Andrews program when 2 new grads can waltz into a national certification exam fresh out of training, with little to no experience in the real world, finish early and pass the exam.

If you have any questions about the Andrews program feel free to email me.

I am the other new graduate that Linda was talking about. I agree that Andrews School really prepares its students for the certification exams. It is a well rounded, very thorough program. I must say that even though the CCS-P exam was easier than I expected, it was still plenty hard! I passed because Andrews School provided me with the knowledge I needed to be a good coder. I am working for a hospital near my home and I love it. I easily made the transition from school to work. I do make mistakes, I am of course new to the field, but I feel like I have a great working knowledge of coding principals, anatomy and pharmaceuticals and disease processes all thanks to Andrews School. I can't praise the program enough, as you can tell. I am very grateful for all the help Linda and her staff of instructors have provided me during my year of school.

I'm a little late getting here, but I'd like to wish you a great big, public "Congratulations," as well!

It's always a thrill to hear that your students have passed something this significant, particularly when the organizations offering the exams recommend that you have 2 or more years of experience before even thinking about testing!

We're proud of both of you! You worked hard and deserve the credentials!
