We all now live in Arizona and are planning to sell our homes and move to the Charlotte area sometime next year, hopelfully we can be moved there by summer. Pooh, I want to be there now!!!

Hi Marti - Have you made the move yet? I'm in Raleigh. There seem to be more jobs in the Charlotte area. I hear Charlotte traffic is gruesome, but hopefully you'll find something close to your work (assuming you don't work at home). If you garden you're going to love the climate. My sister lives in AZ and loves it. To each his own.
The mountains are great for vacations. The beaches are outstanding. Housing isn't expensive compared to other places. Hopefully the drought will be over soon and then we'll just have ice storms and hurricanes to endure again.

Hi. I'm new to MT Chat and am in Charlotte NC (University area). I've just finished my studies and am awaiting my final exam results. Soon I'll be doing the job search thing.
Where do each of you work and are you working from home? Trying to get the scoop on which companies to avoid and which ones to seek out (seeing a lot of bad press on MedQuist on the forum). Any information would be appreciated.

Hey! I'm in Morganton. Been doing this for 5+ years. Wish I could do it full time (from home). Hopefully, I"ll get there soon.

Hey, you all sound very happy! How Hot does it get there in the summer? I live in Vermont and the winters are way too long, the summers are very nice, but of course too short. I like the mountain area of North Carolina. I want a milder winter, longer growing season, and summers that don't get real, real hot. Is that what you have?

Obviously I haven't checked this thread in a bit. In answer, I'm still in AZ. I have sold my house and escrow is due to close by the end of the month. I'll be moving in with my friend that I will be going to NC with until her house sells.
Not really worried about the traffic as I do work from home.
My friend and I are just sick of the desert, plus, we have both lost our husbands and feel we need a change, a big one, and moving to NC ought to do that. We want to live where we will actually get some rain and where it is green. I know some parts of AZ are green and pretty, but we can't afford to live there. We just both know we are going to love NC. Yeah, to each his own.
Marti
