The Dems' esteemed 'unifier' at a fundraiser the other day in my hometown: See here. Excerpt: On Friday, speaking at a fundraiser in Jacksonville, Obama made what can only be described as a pre-emptive strike. "It is going to be very difficult for Republicans to run on their stewardship of the economy or their outstanding foreign policy," he said. "We know what kind of campaign they're going to run. They're going to try to make you afraid. They're going to try to make you afraid of me. 'He's young and inexperienced, and he's got a funny name. And did I mention he's black?'"
He went on to predict that Republicans would say that "he's got a feisty wife" as a way of attacking Michelle Obama. "We know the strategy because they've already shown their cards," he said. "Ultimately, I think the American people recognize that old stuff hasn't moved us forward. That old stuff just divides us."
Yep, the stuff that divides us too, Mr. Obama, are the acts of constantly bringing up this sort of thing (like so much sand to throw in peoples' faces) and even when some of it does not even apply. When did you last hear a Pub go on about you being black, sir? To my recollection, it has only been Dems who have done that. You call for 'adults' to be in Washington. Fine. Start off by waiting to grow up yourself before embarking on any trips there.
The more exposure I get of this guy, the more it becomes apparent to me that he indeed harbors the kind of negative sentiments we have seen exhibited by the likes of Wright and others who he has kept company with for years and years. It is beyond me why anyone in their right mind wants someone with such a sophomoric approach to the political process to be their POTUS.
