Hi All!
I've been "haunting" this forum for the past few days, and I have to say, the information you have all given is just astounding. I've had to walk away from the computer many times, because of information overload!
Also, a big thank you goes out to everyone who has tirelessly answered posts on which school to attend. Reading what you have said has saved me from making a huge schooling mistake. I am in the process of possibly joining one of the "top 2" if a few things can be worked out.
That said, I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Bekah and I am a homeschooling mother of four, living in Wisconsin. Having read the FAQs and most of the stickies, I can honestly tell you that I am NOT going into this career just for a stay-at-home opportunity, NOT just to "make a few extra bucks" on the side, and definitely NOT coming into it thinking it's going to be an easy ride! In fact, I'm anticipating the exact opposite for the first few years. I've been researching this career for quite a while now, and I believe it's time to take the plunge! I think I will eventually enjoy the work ... at least some of the time. ;)
With all that said, I probably won't say much for a while. I've seen too many people put their feet in their mouths as newbies to forums! I would rather watch and learn, and then when I actually have the credentials to back up what I know, I'll say something. I'm looking forward to the journey, though, and glad to be here.
*smiles and waves* Bekah

I guess we are in this "boat" together. I also have four kids and intend to homeschool starting in 5th or 6th grade. This coming up school year is 4th grade for the twins so I am almost there...
I, too, am hoping to join one of the "top" schools within the next month or so. I am actually still trying to decide between the two as they both have outstanding qualifications. I am meeting with an Andrews graduate on Saturday so maybe that will help my decision.
Anyhow, WELCOME from one "newbie wannabe" to another!

Hi Bekah, and Kenz. I'm also new to this board & have been lurking for the past week or so. I've been working on my MT course on & off for awhile & have recently made it my goal to graduate & start on seeking employment. Staying involved in the forums is great; I wish I'd been doing this all along. The people here are so helpful with their knowledge, resources, advice...
Should we start a Newbie study group?
(I can't find the smileys - ?) Oh nevermind, I get it about the smileys. I did a quick reply before so I couldn't see them.

Caution about newbie study groups. If you choose/chose a good school, you'll need to only pay attention to them. Newbie study groups don't really work--it's too easy for wrong information to be passed around. Even us oldies have a time of it trying to troubleshoot something.
Good luck!

Hi Donna. Thanks for the advice, but I'm confused; I see people here helping each other out, sharing knowledge & such. Kind of like a study group.

Hi Donna. Thanks for the advice, but I'm confused; I see people here helping each other out, sharing knowledge & such. Kind of like a study group. There are people here with many years of experience. If someone posts something that is incorrect, there is always someone to point out that it's wrong. With a group that is all/mainly newbies, you wouldn't have that.
